Fences

Respond to the following in paragraph form using proper grammar and mechanics.

There is an old adage which states, "Good fences make good neighbors."  What do you think this means?  Do you agree or disagree with this statement?  To what additional areas of life (other than the obvious property) can it be applicable?

  1. The saying good fences make good neighbors is a correct saying. This means that as long as neighbors stay so far away from each other they can get along with each other. I agree because everyone was things they like to keep to themselves. Other areas this could be good is ones personal life. No person like for their neighbors to know about the skeletons in their closet.

  2. This means that it is better for people to mind there own business and respect the privacy of others. I some what agree with this statement because if you are just trying to get into other peoples business just so you can be nosy. then you should be getting into others business. On the other hand if you are trying to help the person by getting into there business because you feel they are in danger. That would be good reason to get into there business.

  4. It means that people need to respect other peoples privacy. I do agree with this statement because people need to respect people's decisions to keep things private. I personally hate it when I do something and my parents will come up to me and go "Whats up with that?" I cant stand it when my parents do that.

  5. I think it means that is you want to have good relations with your neighbor, you have to respect each others property. I think this is true because if your always going over on to your neighbors property and disrespecting them, they will get mad. I think this can be applied to all relationships you have with people. Business relationships use this because you have to respect what the other person is doing and their ideas.

  6. I think it means that people should mind their own business. i agree with the quote because some people want to be left alone and some people dont want others to know their business. Some people like to be the center of attention and like people to know about their life. If you have a fence as a neighbor good for you if you dont like to have other people knowing your business. If your neighbor is a fence and you are too, well you have a good life at some times. Not haveing a fence as a neighbor at times isnt that great. They might telling you every gossip around the town that you might not even care about.

  7. I believe that it means that sometimes it is better that people keeps their minds out of everyone else business. It's better to keep the fence between others and yourself good and high because as soon as you get involved with other peoples business, they may not want your opinion. So, sometimes it's better to say nothing at all.

  8. I think this statement means that people should mind there own business. I disagree with satement because neighbors shouldn't worry about what you are doing. If something is happening at your house then a couple of minutes there asking when happen. There is some stuff in life that your neighbors shouldn't know about.

  9. The statement, Good fences make good neighbors, this means privacy is good among neighbors. If one has a good fence they will not have to openly shair thier private life. If one can hide their true self and just show a good front. This can be applied to ones personal life because one can put up a front.

  10. "Good fences make good neighbors" is a phrase that I believe in. This quote says that people need to mind there own buisness and the fence helps with that, but in a literate way it means that the farther away a person is from someone the better they get along and can make a good neighbor, because a neighbor up in your buisness, is a neighbor who causes problems. This is a saying your could take many ways and not just a "fence to keep things out" kindof way.

  11. I think that the fence represents a distance between you and your neighbor. It tells your neighbors that they have limits and have to respect your space. A good distance between your neighbors is always good for your relationship because you see them so little they don't have time to insult.

  12. This means that if people maintain each others privacy, then they will become better and more reliable neighbors. I agree with this statement because people have their own business, and it is not yours. If you mind your own business and keep to yourself you and other people will become to like each other more and be more respectful. This can be used in all areas of your life. Everywhere you are, if you keep your to yourself and not go into everybody else's business then people will be not mind each other.

  14. This saying means that if you stay far enough away from people and don't get to close and invade on their privacy, you will get along. I agree with this statement. This statement would work because people then aren't close enough and know each other good enough to talk behind each others back. It also keeps people happier at each other.

  15. "Good fences make good neighbors" means that it's better for people to mind their own business and not get involved in other peoples business and to respect the privacy of others. I agree with this statement because I think people should worry about themselves and not be worrying about what other people do. People always want to be involved in everybody's life instead of just their own life. I think this can be applied to almost everything you do in life.

  16. This saying states that it's easier to be friendly to your neighbor if neither of you trespass upon the others property or privacy. I agree with this statement because it says that if you are friendly with your neighbor and you don't trespass you will be okay and get along just fine. It can be applicable to not steal things from the other house.

  17. I believe that it means that people should mind their own business and also to leave people their space and respect their privacy. Yes i agree with this statement because a people don't respect people business these days and try to get involved in everyone's business. Sometimes people just need to not get involved in peoples business and focus on their own first. I find it really rude when people don't mind their own business it usually dosen't help the situation at all.

  18. If you keep people out of your life and property, its easier to get along with them. I agree with the statement because I am not that trusting of a person. If you don't let people in on your life then there is no cause or reason for conflict.
