The person who delivered the speech was President Roosevelt. He was giving the speech to the people of the Untied States do tell them that they were going to war with Japan Empire. The president needed to know that they were scared and just make sure that they would be safe. The president got the audience attention by saying that the date of December 7, 1941 is the date of which the will in infamy and saying that we were at piece with Japan. The thesis statement of this speech was still trying to have peace and that there thinking about going to war with them. Three transitions from the speech one is “in addition, American ships have been reported torpedoed on the high seas between San Francisco and Honolulu.”The second, “Japan has, therefore, undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the Pacific area.” The third, “during the intervening time, the Japanese government has deliberately sought to deceive the United States by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.” The speaker was very like able because he has clam and was straight forward with the audience of telling them what was going on and what was going to happen. I don’t think that there was any figurative language in this speech. I think this speech was in the top 100 because this was a major day in history and it was a really affective speech. I would give the president a B on this speech.
